Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 26, 2026

Fieldhouse Bar & Grill is committed to making our website and our venue usable by everyone, including guests and applicants with disabilities. This page is maintained by Fieldhouse and describes what we do, what we know is imperfect, and how to reach us if something does not work for you.

Standard We Aim For

We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our target standard, consistent with the expectations of Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 principles. This is a statement of ongoing effort, not a certification or a claim of full conformance. Accessibility is treated as a continuing part of how we build and update this site.

Measures We Take

  • Accessibility is considered when we add or change site content and features.
  • We review new pages for headings, labels, contrast, and keyboard operability.
  • We give a named email contact for barrier reports and respond to every one.
  • Confirmed barriers are prioritized and fixed as quickly as we reasonably can.

What's Built Into the Site

  • Semantic headings, landmark regions, and a skip-to-content link on every page.
  • Full keyboard navigation with visible gold focus outlines on links, buttons, and fields.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images and accessible names on icon-only buttons.
  • Labels tied to every form field, with errors surfaced in text and announced to screen readers.
  • High-contrast gold-on-black text and tap targets sized for one-handed mobile use.
  • Layouts that reflow without horizontal scrolling and support browser zoom and text resizing.
  • Background video that is muted, decorative, looping without audio, and never the only source of information.
  • Color is never the only way we convey status, errors, or meaning.
  • The signup popup can be closed with the Escape key and returns focus to the page.

Compatibility

The site is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on desktop and mobile, used with screen readers such as VoiceOver, NVDA, and TalkBack. Older browsers may not support every feature.

Known Limitations

Some gallery photography is decorative and intentionally not described in detail. Third-party content we link to or embed, such as Google Maps, Instagram, and Facebook, is outside our control and may not meet the same standard. If any of this creates a barrier, tell us and we will provide the information another way.

Accessibility at the Venue

If you need information about entrance access, elevator or level access, seating, service animals, or other accommodations for a visit or a group reservation, contact us ahead of time and our staff will help you plan. We also provide reasonable accommodations in the application and interview process; email bar@iowacitybar.com to request one.

Alternative Ways to Get Information

If any content on this site is not accessible to you, we will provide it in another format at no cost, including by email, by phone conversation with a staff member, or in person at the venue. Ask for what you need and we will accommodate it.

Tell Us About a Barrier

Email bar@iowacitybar.com with the page address and a short description of the problem, plus the browser and assistive technology you were using if you know them. We aim to acknowledge within five business days and to fix confirmed issues as quickly as we can. Feedback about accessibility is welcome and is used to improve the site.
